Privacy & Data Use
How The Ava Edit Smart Store Audit handles connected-shop data and Ask Ava.
What the app accesses
When you connect Etsy, the app requests read-only shops_r and listings_r permissions to load available shop and listing information. These permissions can include details not publicly displayed on Etsy, such as inactive or draft listing information. The app does not request Etsy write or delete permissions, does not ask for your Etsy password, and does not edit your Etsy listings.
Etsy authorization
Etsy access and refresh tokens are encrypted before they are stored by the application. When server-side persistence is enabled, an encrypted copy may be retained so the connection can be refreshed without repeatedly asking you to reconnect. You can disconnect Etsy from the dashboard.
Ava Memory, audit history and workspace data
The app may save Shop Checkup snapshots/history, your Ava Memory profile, guided-review answers, saved priorities, listing notes, progress history, check-ins, price-review inputs, and recent workspace state. Information may be stored in your browser and, when server-side sync is enabled, in the application database so you can resume later.
Usage analytics and diagnostics
The beta records basic product-usage events such as page visits, Connect clicks, Etsy authorization progress, completed Shop Checkups, Price Auditor use, Ask Ava use, errors, device category, referral/UTM source, app version, and feedback you choose to submit. This information helps us understand whether the app is working and where testers are getting stuck. Analytics are not designed to collect passwords, payment-card details or chat contents.
Ask Ava and data sent to OpenAI
Ask Ava is optional. When you send a message, your question and a limited amount of relevant shop, audit and workspace context are sent to OpenAI to generate a response. This is third-party processing, so please do not put passwords, payment-card numbers, government identifiers or other secrets into chat.
Payments
When payment features are enabled, subscription and purchase billing is processed by Stripe. The app does not store your full payment-card details. Stripe may retain some payment and billing records under its legal, fraud-prevention, accounting and service obligations even if Ava app data is deleted. The Etsy app currently operates in beta mode.
What Ava does not do
The app does not intentionally sell your connected-shop data, does not request your Etsy password and does not automatically edit your listings. Shop text supplied to Ask Ava is treated as data rather than as instructions to the AI.
Your choices and data controls
You can clear locally saved Ava workspace information, disconnect Etsy and use the Delete My Ava Data control. Deletion removes application database records tied to your Ava account, including connected-shop records, workspace data, usage counters, one-time access records, account ownership mapping and saved audit history. If you have an active paid subscription, cancel it through Manage Billing before deleting account data. Some third-party records may remain as explained above.
Third-party services
The app relies on Etsy for shop authorization and data, OpenAI for optional Ask Ava responses, Vercel for application hosting, Supabase for configured server persistence, and Stripe for payment processing and subscription management when enabled.
Security
We use encrypted Etsy tokens, secure HTTP-only cookies in production, read-only Etsy scopes for this version and server-only credentials for protected services. Database access is restricted through role permissions and row-level security. No system can promise absolute security. Learn more about our safety protections.
